Dr. Lance Ashworth received his medical degree from Midwestern University, and his undergraduate degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. He spent 18 months doing his internship and post-graduate training in General Practice at Florida Hospital Memorial Division. He immediately opened the first 100% dedicated medical weight loss clinic in the area. It has been through hard work, dedication to the developement of a healthy, medical approach to weight loss that his clinic in Ormond Beach, Fl has continued to grow and succeed. The only way a weight loss clinic survives for a decade in a relatively small community is if it reaps success. It is only through the word of mouth of those that have succeeded in losing the weight and then keeping it off that his clinic has been able to thrive, even in the face of at times the worse of economic environments this country has ever seen. Physicians in larger cities like Miami, New York, or Los Angeles who practice poor medical weight loss have the benefit of always having "new patients" that probably hadn't heard of them and may unknowingly spend their hard earned money on out dated, useless weight loss programs that are based on unsound or no medical science at all.
